For a team of 10 people like ours that was going to film a documentary about the vestiges of the Mayan culture in the Yucatan Peninsula in the South of Mexico, a van is the best option. We could have chosen two cars, but that would make the trip more difficult, and at the same time it would certainly make it more expensive.
The first idea was to rent a van directly at the Cancun airport. There are several companies that offer car rental services at the Cancun airport, and all of them have several offers of Vans and Minivans. However, we had already documented in the internet reviews, that renting a car at the airport is much more expensive than renting from a local company.
In fact, checking prices, we checked with City Car Rental, a Chevrolet Van Express cost $1230.45 usd for a week, including insurance. Rental24h offers a similar car for $1673.00 usd.
For the same period of time, also with insurance included, Easy Way Car Rental offered the same car for $876 usd. Not to mention the comparisons. So we decided on the latter option.
We had already seen the references of the company in the user reviews. Most of them were positive. So we had a chance to see for ourselves. The service: very good. The car, although not new, was in good condition. So without further ado, we give the go-ahead: to rent a van in Cancun: Easy Way or any local agency, without a doubt.
So we started our adventure. We drove down the road that connects all the points of the Riviera Maya, going through the sites of this wonderful civilization that was the Mayan people.
